RLWB -053 TRS- RL-137- Benaras has been a major centre of textile production over the ages. As a centre for production the town received demands to produce and customise textiles from different parts the country. This silk saree (RLWB- 053) with parrots in gold zari is woven in Benaras yet takes inspiration from the aesthetics popular in Venkatagiri. This saree stays true to the off white and gold tradition of the Venkatagiri sarees of Andhra Pradesh. It also incorporates the identity of the Venkatagiri silks and the single parrot motif on the end panel that have become synonymous with the Venkatagiri saree.The Saree is a part of the historic collection - Red Lilies Water Birds by The Registry of Sarees and has been successfully recreated at Yali Textiles LLP.
